Key Stakeholder Engagement Initiative for Central Region Roadshow event was successfully conducted by Colombo Conferences on 5th & 6th November 2021. However, The event conducted in hybrid mode. Central Roadshow attended physically and virtually. The participants and the Government Forum conducted with a presence of District Secretaries and the officials from their respective locations. Participants from the Central, North Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces connected. Over 1,000 participants representing six Districts in Central Region. Such as, Kandy, Nuwaraeliya, Kegalle, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Matale including government officials, industry stakeholders and the public. The two-day roadshow in the central region in collaboration with the Ministry of Technology, Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (TRCSL)l Also, collaborated telecommunications and industry partners. The forum’s main objective to created the awareness about the country’s national digital transformation plan and engage with regional stakeholders. which aimed to conducive environment in the central region for establishing technology clusters.
The roadshow created new engagements, strengthens prevailing engagements, and communicates the national digital roadmap and the plans. Regardless, Representatives from Government agencies, Telecommunications and technology industry officials, the SME and start-up community. The Central Province Chamber of Commerce and education industry officials took part in the Central Regional Roadshow. Relevant and timely topics such as, the vision for digital Sri Lanka, the ICTA strategy in driving digital transformation, digital economy and the role of the central regional cluster, and the way forward in driving digital transformation discussed.
