The Presidential Export Awards 2025 took place on February 7, 2025, at the BMICH in Colombo. It was an important event celebrating excellence and innovation in Sri Lanka’s export sector. The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) organized this special event. For example, the 26th edition brought together industry leaders, government officials, and participants to honor exporters. These exporters help grow Sri Lanka’s economy and improve its global image.

The evening started with a warm welcome from EDB Chairman and CEO Mangala Wijesinghe. Next, prominent figures in the export industry gave inspiring speeches. President Anura Kumara Dissanayake attended as the chief guest. He stressed the key role exporters play in rebuilding Sri Lanka’s economy. Additionally, he noted the need for better market strategies and government support. This helps exporters succeed despite global challenges. The awards ceremony was the main highlight. Businesses of all sizes received recognition for their great work in various sectors.

In total, the event gave out 14 overall awards and 51 sectoral awards. For instance, MAS Holdings won the “Exporter of the Year” title. They earned it for their excellent work in sustainable exports and product growth. The awards also celebrated innovation, market expansion, and creativity in businesses. These align with the government’s goal to increase Sri Lanka’s export volumes significantly.
